Everything becomes divine when it is directed towards Lord Vishnu!

The below post was written when I was guilty for not being a worthy devotee but then I kept digging about Sri Hari's wonderful qualities like how he gets easily satisfied with little things that one does out of love & devotion.

He accepted Sabari's fruits given out of love. Most of us know about "Sabari Moksha" but felt like mentioning about it here..after all, one can never get enough of reading or writing his beautiful stories:-)

Sabari was a very old lady during Sri Rama avataram. She waited all her life to meet Sri Rama in person and serve him. One of her gurus(Rishi Matanga) had told her sometimes before that Sri Hari's avatar lord Rama would visit her ashram one beautiful day. Hence she longed for that day to come. She decorated the pathway leading to her ashram with flowers for several days, months & years waiting for Sri Rama's visit, she used to pluck fruits from trees and taste them to check if the fruits were sweet enough to satisfy our sweet lord....and one FINE day our sweet and beloved Sri Rama walked his way along with Lakshman baiya to Sabari's ashram. Sabari's happiness knew no bounds! She was in tears out of joy & welcomed Sri Rama for whom she waited all her life. She offered him fruits which were already sipped, bit & tasted by her. She did that ONLY because she wanted Sri Rama to feast on the sweetest fruit. She did everything only out of pure love & devotion. Our Sri Hari accepted her fruits with so much of love. He Loved her fruits:-)) Then after having served Lord Rama she attained moksha. Likewise our Sri Hari has accepted the garland of Sri Kothai(Andal akka) which was already worn by her and given to him out of love.

Such is the relationship of jeevathma & Paramathma....anything & everything becomes divine in this relationship! Nothing becomes wrong or unworthy when directed towards his beautiful feet. Nothing gets tainted! Like how anything put into fire becomes fire itself, any teeny tiny step or even a thought directed towards him becomes divine no matter how small the thoughts are or how unworthy the offerings are. Everything becomes divine !

HIS kindness is incredible!

Oh my!! Sorry about the intro..:-)

Dear Tirupathi Srinivasa,

I beautify myself bejeweling my ears, fingers & hands, decorate my hair with flowers for you to look at me,
burning desire for you alone satisfies your eyes!

You taste my unworthy offerings the moment I say, "Krishnarpanam"
devotion alone satisfies your taste buds!

You hear my songs discounting my unsweetened voice,
Bakthi alone satisfies your ears!

You read my poems whether it rhymes or not,
just a thought of you alone satisfies your heart!

I read slokas perhaps entangled with flaws,
just the very thought of impressing you alone impresses you!

I am drowning in this materialistic ocean & call out to you surrendering myself unto your feet,
Just that surrendering moment alone satisfies your beautiful feet!

Deeply struck by your love dipped arrow perhaps aimed at arousing me, I cry in pain,
just the tears of separation alone melts your heart & satisfies YOU!

How Kind! How sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet ! How Lovable R U Sri Hari !!! May this devotee, slave, lover, friend, wife be bound in your thoughts for ever & ever..! No matter how many births it takes to hug you & kiss you, let my heart always long for you and crave for you!! Meera used to say, "Giridhari, I can't even forget you for more than 2 seconds!" Oh my Hari! Let me also be bound in your thoughts likewise.....Forever!

Love U Narayana!

Yamuna ke ghaat par bhajan

Yamuna ghaat...What is the first thing that runs to your minds when I say this? Yes! The spot where Krishna would play his mellifluous flute; break the pots of makhan(butter) with his associates, bathe in its cool waters, dance in the twilight with all the gopis, Romance with his favorite Radharani. Ever thought how much of a glorified spot it is? It is not regarded as one of the most romantic places on Earth but, think, if the banks of Yamuna is the place Our dearmost Krishna chose to enchant the enchantresses themselves and perform all of the numerable amazing pastimes ,then how much of beauty that spot can hold??!! How many chapters of romance, mischief, love, devotion , admiration and heartfelt emotions it has seen. The banks of Yamuna are very beautiful in their own regard; after all, anything associated with Krishna is very beautiful ,right? (despite of the pollution and degradation it is unfortunately going through now because of careless human interference).

So here's a bhajan. In it is a girl (gopi) whose every wish and desire to do anything and everything with her Kanha starts and ends on the sacred banks of Yamuna. Every thought of hers is directed towards taking krishna to that spot and fulfilling her wishes there. She loves the spot because He Loves the spot!

PS: I wrote this after watching news abt Yamuna river pollution etc. I was so touched. So I went back some thousands of years in my imagination and saw the river again...but clear and shining this time. [and saw him playing his flute :) ]

Heyji! Mere Kanha ko laavo ri sakhi .....Yamuna ke ghaat par.
Heyji mere Kanha . . .

Kaala jiska rang aur roopvan ang,
Ab Nihaarne mein leen hoon.
Heyji! Mere kanha ko bolu mann ki baat..... Yamuna ke ghaat par.
Heyji mere Kanha . . .

Gokul ,Vrindavan, Barsana yatra,
Karne mein leen hoon.
Krishna krishna gawoo aur hari geeton ki,

Heyji Mere Kanha ko gawoo prem geet..... Yamuna ke ghaat par.
Heyji Mere Kanha . . .

Heyji! Mere Kanha ki sunnu adbudh vaani..... Yamuna ke ghaat par.
Heyji Mere Kanha . . .

Shyaam piya yeh kaisi pareeksha? bhajan

This bhajan is very close to my heart as I had written it during a very critical time in my life asking Him why things had to be the way they were. When i was singing it to him it might have been very discordant bcoz of crysinging! But i think he still loves it! (i always see a smile coming onto his face when I sing and ask him, "why this pareeksha?")
PS: sorry for neglecting the blog for a while. I was entangled in my own things :(
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*

Jiya roye, mann khabraaye
O! My heart cries in despair,
My mind is scared!
Yahi sonche, tose poonche
All i can think of, what i do ask you:
Uljane kyu aaye meri ore?
Why do you thus leave me in despair?
Teri leela hai yah bhagya ka jhol?
Is this some game of yours?
Or is this the swing of fate??
More kanha kehde mohe kya hai bhagya ki rekha
O My Kanha! Tell me what my lines of fate are
Shyaam piya yeh kaisi pareeksha?
O Shyam...my Love! Tell me: what kind of a test this?
Nisdin palchhin poonche tose mori bheegi ankhiyaan
Everyday, my wet eyes ask you the same question:
Shyaam piya yeh kaisi pareeksha?
O Shyam...my Love! Tell me: what kind of a test this?
Oh piya . . .
O My Love!

Dukh mitjaayenge, sukh ki yeh pagal barsaat hongi
My sorrows will disappear, and will shower on me torrents of happiness
Yeh vishwaas hai ke tose jo har baat ki woh sach hongi
As i believe that what You have promised, WILL come true!
more kanha batade mohe kya hai bithar manvaa
My Kanha! Tell me: what are your thoughts?
Shyaam piya yeh kaisi pareeksha?
O Shyam...my Love! Tell me: what kind of a test this?
Saanchi tose preet par ghereh jag ki maya
Shyaam piya yeh kaisi pareeksha?
O Shyam...my Love! Tell me: what kind of a test this?
Oh Piya . . .
O My Love!

Bawri hoon meh nadan hoon par teri hi bhakt rahungi
Maybe i am reckless, maybe i am mad: Yet, i will remain your devotee!
Na todungi tohri preet, meera kehti thi mein bhi kahungi
Even as Meera declared, i will not give up Your love!
More kanha tose mann ne bhandhan kaisa bandha?
My Kanha! How did this mind get bound to You?
Shyaam piya yeh kaisi pareeksha?
O Shyam...my Love! Tell me: what kind of a test this?
Tose hi roothu tohri hi sharan dodhu pagli saiyaan
i root for You,
This mad slave is surrendered unto Your Feet!
Shyaam piya yeh kaisi pareeksha?
O Shyam...my Love! Tell me: what kind of a test this?
Oh piya . . .
O My Love!

More mann ke jharokhe me dekhu chhabi sundar shyaam tihari
Within the inner chambers of my heart, i see only Dear Shyaam's sweet, handsome form!
Yuhi rehna sada jeevan me, yahi vinati hai hamari.
Forever stay like this in my heart,
That alone i ask of You!
More kanha saath tum jo peelu vish ka pyaala
My Kanha! To remain with You, i shall even drink poison!
Shyaam piya yeh kaisi pareeksha?
Then,   O Shyam...my Love! Tell me: what kind of a test this?
Haaru kaise tohra sang paake oh Sawariya?!
How can i lose after i have Your association i have gained, O Beloved!
Shyaam piya yeh kaisi pareeksha?
Then,   O Shyam...my Love! Tell me: what kind of a test this?
Oh piya . . .
O My Love!
